About

PregnancyGearGuide.com is an independent editorial site about pregnancy and postpartum gear. It is written for the person who cannot get comfortable at night anymore, the one packing a hospital bag at 36 weeks, the friend looking for a gift that will actually get used, and the new parent figuring out which recovery items matter in the first weeks. Comfort, fit and honest expectations are our subject. Your health is not.

We write about gear, not about your health

Nothing on this site is medical advice. We are writers and researchers, not midwives, doctors, lactation consultants or physical therapists. Whether a support belt is appropriate for your situation, what a symptom means, how long to wear something, and anything about your pregnancy or your baby belongs with your midwife, OB-GYN or pediatrician, and our guides say so on the page instead of guessing for you.

Two subjects get extra care here. Products people ingest or interpret, such as prenatal vitamins and pregnancy tests, get plain-language label explanations and a referral, never a recommendation of dose or brand as a health choice. And anything near infant sleep follows the published guidance of the CPSC and the AAP: a nursing pillow is a feeding support, never a sleep surface, and that sentence appears in every guide that touches one.

How we work

We do not run a test panel and we do not physically test the products we write about, and we do not pretend otherwise. Our guides are built on published manufacturer information, sizing charts and materials, and on what owners consistently report after months of real use. Where a number appears, it comes from the maker or the listing and is named as such. Where the honest answer is that a cheaper option or no purchase at all serves you better, that is what we write.
